distrx defines a district as a collection of shops, restaurants, bars and attractions located within easy walking distance, allowing visitors to park in one location and stroll the area. Districts are recognized by local residents as an identifiable, named geographical area or designated as such by a governmental body, such as a municipality. Often districts have community oversight or coordination in the form of Main Street district managers, merchant associations, chambers of commerce, or are governed by local ordinances. A shopping mall is not a district, but may exist within a district.
distrx was created and launched in Central Florida, with a vision of nationwide expansion based on merchant and app user input. Please use this form to recommend your favorite districts, and we will include them in our plans for future growth.
