About Jacob's Hall Museum

A National Historic Landmark, until 1966 Jacobs Hall was the dormitory for the older girls at KSD. Now It is approximately a 38,000 square feet museum with six floors, including a two-story cupola. The museum’s holdings are varied and represent the history of Deaf Culture. They include letters, documents, newspapers, and published reports related to the 188-year history of KSD. The lives of deaf students in this residential school are illuminated through exhibits of classrooms and dormitory rooms, vocational training, the dining hall and the chapel.
